Campaign to save the Institute "Dr. Simo Milošević" Igalo!
The campaign to save the "Dr. Simo Milošević" Igalo Institute began on August 3 with the signing of a petition under the motto "All together as one, the Institute is valuable to all".

About the campaign
The signing began in Herceg Novi, after a protest by Institute workers and a two-hour blockade of border crossings with Croatia. In municipalities across Montenegro, together with representatives of the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Trade Union Organization of the Institute, the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro opened stands for signing petitions as a form of support for the fight to preserve this giant of Montenegrin health tourism, which has been carrying out by the Trade Union Organization "Dr. Simo Milošević" Igalo months ago.


About conference
13 field visits and the signing of a petition by members of trade unions from other sectors as well were finalized with the thematic conference called "Dialogue for preserving the Institute »Dr. Simo Milošević« Igalo" and organized by the UFTUM and the Trade Union Organization of the Institute »Dr. Simo Milošević« Igalo, The conference was held on September 26, 2023 in the UFTUM Media Center. At the conference, in which all relevant stakeholders took part, several possible models for the preservation of the Institute were presented, which showed that in the previous period, there was a complete lack of mutual dialogue between decision-makers and all those interested in the future of the Institute.
What was achieved with the campaign
With this campaign, the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro also showed its determination in the implementation of its congressional resolution on the protection of economic entities from the national interest, among which the Igalo Institute is certainly included. By the day of the conference, almost 19,000 signatures of support from the citizens of Montenegro were collected.
